From the moment we arrived to the moment we left, the staff couldn’t do more for us. They were very attentive and the attention to detail was fabulous. We received a message that day saying we had been moved to their main property, The Lantern, because of air‑con issues at The Beach House; they upgraded us to the presidential suite overlooking the ocean front. The food, the location, the ambience were superb—would highly recommend this hotel and would definitely book again. Nothing to fault.

A truly great place right near Mirissa with roomy rooms and a stunning sea view; the staff were very attentive and helpful in every situation, though like many Sri Lankan properties some areas still need renovation to meet expectations.

The building is beautiful, with architecture typical of many Asian beach resorts, and it sits on an absolute beachfront spot. Our room was spacious, had high ceilings, and was very luxurious. The staff were extremely attentive, especially our butler, Chandi. The beach is quiet, away from the loud tourist zones along that stretch of coast, which is highly desirable according to our book. We didn’t realize the ocean wasn’t swimmable because of rough seas and a big shore dump. Also, even though we didn’t turn on the TV, we noticed it was on a fixed stand facing the cupboard with the mini‑bar (not the sofa), so there was nowhere to sit comfortably to watch TV. The place is subject to road and railway noise, but we weren’t bothered by it and they do provide ear plugs.

“Exceptional”

Everything was excellent—the staff were extremely friendly and made the stay exceptional. The hotel is very clean, very aesthetic, and the pool was fantastic. The location is a bit far from the center, about 5–8 minutes by tuk‑tuk; I would have liked it to be within walking distance.
