The apartment was spot on: great location, helpful host, top‑class equipment and spotless cleanliness. Having three separate bedrooms was a real bonus for our trio of couples.

“Central location”

The place sat in a central spot and the host was very helpful with local info and transfers around Palermo. However, the advertised kitchen was a lie—no sink, just a bathroom basin with a hole and no plug or cleaning supplies. The second bathroom barely worked: the shower was over a toilet that didn’t flush, soaking everything and making it unusable. We flagged several maintenance problems. The heaters and radiators made loud clicking and banging noises all night, ruining sleep. The children’s bedroom doors jammed shut and the handles squeaked so loudly it sounded like a break‑in. Showers were mouldy, so we had to buy our own cleaning supplies. The host offered to fix things during our stay, but we declined because we were on holiday and had valuables left out with no safes. These were long‑standing issues that should have been fixed before guests arrived. He offered breakfast as compensation, which we also turned down. By the end we were exhausted, frustrated and uncomfortable. My husband asked the host for a refund for a night we chose not to stay, as required under Australian consumer law. The property had hygiene and safety concerns and did not match the listing. The host’s reply was shocking: he called us blackmailing, threatening, “morally violent,” then blocked us, leaving no way to resolve the matter. We followed up three times while leaving Palermo, but he kept insisting he’d offered repairs, while we made it clear we didn’t want them during our holiday. He was helpful until the shortcomings were formally raised. Overall, a deeply disappointing experience.

The location was great and the host was super helpful with activity and food tips. There was plenty of space for a group holiday, which was the highlight. We didn’t need a kitchen because there are lovely cafés and restaurants nearby, and each room had kettles and snacks as a nice touch.

“Cute apartment with exceptional service”

The apartment was lovely and in a fantastic spot just moments from the Teatro Massimo and a wide variety of restaurants and cafés. Gabriele was extremely friendly, helpful and responsive—he went above and beyond any service I’ve ever received from a holiday apartment rental. Thank you so much. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! A few plates would have been great.

L'appartamento è bellissimo, molto grande, comodo, vicino a tutto. Tutto benissimo, forse direi che manca un piccolo forno o piano cottura
