The hotel's cleanliness and smooth check-in process make up for its basic amenities
The room was spacious, and the team was responsive, but the bathroom was small, and the pillows were uncomfortable
We appreciated the convenient amenities, such as a microwave and a free hot water dispenser

“Clean and comfortable hotel with easy self check in.”
The room was clean and comfy, but there was no small fridge in the room.
“Es ist ein super-low-budget Hotel. Man sollte wissen worauf man sich einlässt. Es war sauber.”
The location is excellent. It was clean. The room had no table, chair, or wardrobe—just two coat hooks and no storage. The shower‑WC cabin was so small that an adult could barely turn around with the door closed. For a three‑night stay each guest receives only one towel, and fresh towels cost an extra 25 CHF.
“Good to stay for a night, but probably not during heatwave”
The location is great, right next to the bus and train stations, and the luggage storage is handy. The code locks were a bit tricky to enter correctly twice, though. The self‑check‑in worked fine for me, but an older couple at the same time had trouble figuring out what the machine wanted until I helped them. It was hot season, not a heatwave but still warm, and the sunny side of the street made the inside feel a bit too hot for me. A big noisy fan helped a bit but isn’t a real solution. Air conditioning only works in the lobby, and the outside unit isn’t actually outside—it meets you in the first room when you step in. The bathroom is very small but adequate for a shower, though the shower head holder was broken, a minor but unpleasant detail.
The hotel did what it needed to do and was easy to find, about a 15‑20 minute walk from the train station and close to a tram line. I suggest getting on at Sihlquai/HB and hopping off at Quellenstrasse; trams 17, 50, and 51 stop there every few minutes. The hotel is just around the corner. We stayed one night in Zurich to make the airport trip the next day easier—only a 10‑minute train ride from HB. I spent most of my evening out, so I didn’t want to splurge on a hotel where I’d be there briefly. Free luggage storage was handy because we arrived at 11 and check‑in wasn’t until 3, so we could lock our bags and enjoy the day. Self‑check‑in was simple and the rooms were clean. What bothered me was the constant hum from a generator or something outside all night, which made sleeping hard. The worst part of the room was that the bathroom walls were see‑through; you’d have to be very comfortable with your boyfriend because he could see and hear you on the toilet and in the shower. There were no feminine bins, so you had to stash your femcare items in the open bedroom bin, which felt exposed, uncomfortable, and undignified. Luckily my boyfriend gave me some privacy by leaving the room for a 10‑minute walk while I showered. We weren’t together long, and I wasn’t ready for him to see my bathroom habits, LOL 😆 The TV was broken and I didn’t see any staff during my stay.
“Horrible”
The heat was unbearable; we stayed in July and the building absorbed a lot of heat it couldn’t vent. There’s no air conditioning, only a small fan that’s clearly insufficient. Even after opening the windows at night when it was cooler outside, the room temperature didn’t drop. The bathroom was very uncomfortable, like an airplane cabin, with the same materials and space. The ceiling was lower on one side of the bed, so my head kept hitting it. To top it off, we had noisy guests next door—Indians with kids who shouted down the hall after midnight, parents in the room with the door open, and they didn’t even get told it was the hotel. The staff kindly asked them to stop, but they kept going.
