The owner talks well, speaks English and German, and explained clearly how to get to the accommodation and how to reach the airport early in the morning. In the entrance area there’s a fridge, coffee, and tea for guests. The overall cleanliness wasn’t satisfactory, but the bed itself was clean. We arrived curious but a little concerned because this place has many negative reviews. The location is bleak, but the owner has turned the highway built next to the house into a benefit by offering a room close to the airport, which is convenient for guests with very early flights. Since the owner rents out a room in the house where he lives, keeps his personal belongings in the wardrobe and bathroom, and shares the bathroom and toilet with guests, I personally think this listing would be more suitable for Airbnb than for something else. You should definitely not expect the level of cleanliness we’re used to in Western Europe. This is the Balkans, and this accommodation gives you a real glimpse into a local household. That said, the bed was clean. If it were a bit further east, it probably would not feel surprising at all. What was particularly inconvenient was that there was no hot water in the shower. To sum it up, I am willing to accept this accommodation for what it is, but the price should be at most half of what we paid. It was the most expensive accommodation we used in Greece, yet the quality was far below what the price would suggest.
