“Prima B&B zonder opsmuk.”

I stayed at a quiet spot on a dead‑end road, far from the nearby A29 motorway. The place sits in the centre of the Hoekse Waard. It’s mainly functional, no frills – nothing is hung on the walls and the artificial flowers on the windowsills are not pretty. The B&B is well equipped and clean, and the reception was warm, but the bathroom fan stays on all the time, which you can hear in the bedroom. Breakfast is simple yet tidy. If you’re looking for a “warmer” ambience, this isn’t the best pick, but the clear pre‑arrival information kept me from being disappointed.

“Im Grunde alles sehr gut bis auf die genannten Punkte.”

The location is very quiet and easy to reach by car. The living room and bathroom could have been a bit warmer, and there was no way to adjust that yourself. A wardrobe for my own belongings was missing.

The lodging is well situated in the heart of Klaaswaal’s countryside, surrounded by green, quiet surroundings with no neighbours in sight. The setting is relaxing, perfect for a nature break. Breakfast is decent, though fresh milk would have been a plus, especially in a farm‑filled area. In summer it would be better to provide season‑appropriate linens instead of heavy blankets, which can be uncomfortable in heat. The kitchen listed in the ad lacks cooking plates, only a microwave, limiting on‑site cooking options. Basic toiletries in the bathroom (shampoo, shower gel) would be appreciated. The first night was disrupted by loud noise from agricultural equipment that ran most of the night. On the second day, a strong smell, probably from barn cleaning or animal droppings, spread through the studio after I left the window open. A few spiders were seen outside the entrance. Not surprising in a rural setting, but it can bother some guests.
