The apartment was spotless, with fresh towels and all the kitchen essentials you’d need, and the location was great; everything worked perfectly and checking in was smooth and hassle‑free. The only downside was the mattress, which felt very soft and sagged a lot, making it uncomfortable. There was also a faint unpleasant smell when I first entered—perhaps from cleaning products—and it lingered even after airing it out. I also missed having a bidet or a hygienic shower in the bathroom, but that’s more a personal preference than a problem. Overall, everything else was fine.

Santa Pola’s beaches—La Gran Playa, Playa Lisa, Tamariz, Santiago, and Bernabéu—are all perfect, and the Castillo Fortaleza is a highlight. The arrival of the Virgen de la Asunción on the Playa de Tamariz, the patron saint of Elche, took place on 28 December, offering plenty to explore. The port, a symbol of Santa Pola from the Roman Portus Ilicitanus to today, is a marvel waiting to be discovered.
