Jungle Vibes

“Good location. Not very clean.”

The location was great, just a 10‑minute walk from the pier, and the room was large and nicely decorated with good AC. I could rent a bike from the owner, which was very handy. However, we encountered a massive ant infestation: hundreds of ants were everywhere—on the skirting boards, rug, floor, bed, and even in all our bags. We had to visit 7/11 twice to buy ant spray and fumigate the room. The ants were in every piece of clothing we owned, and the picture I attached shows just a section of the skirting board. When we returned, a praying mantis was also in the room, probably because the sliding door didn’t close fully. The shared bathroom was poorly cleaned, full of cockroaches and bugs, and the bins were overflowing. Not all taps worked, the kitchen was unusable, and there was no kettle in the room. Our bedding appeared unclean: sheets had sand, were creased, and when I turned the sheet inside out, a padlock key was under the pillow, indicating it hadn’t been changed. I’ve stayed at many hostels and rarely give a low rating, but I had to share this experience.

The location and value for money were excellent, but the proximity to town and the facilities left something to be desired.

“Top Unterkunft”

The jungle vibe, clean room and bathroom, comfortable bed, and fully working AC, shower, and Wi‑Fi made for an optimal stay. Walking to the pier, Walking Street, or Food Market takes 5‑10 minutes. The kitchen is outside, and the host is always reachable. The only downside was the insects.

My favorite spot on Koh Phangan! The jungle vibes really live up to the name, surrounded by lush tropical plants and nature for a peaceful, relaxing feel. I loved the concept: you get a hotel‑room privacy while enjoying a welcoming, well‑designed common area that makes it easy to meet other travelers. The social vibe is great. I stayed in several rooms and liked each one. Shared bathrooms never caused any problems; there are several toilets and showers, and because there are only a few rooms, I never had to wait or see anyone else using them. The owner is incredibly kind and welcoming, making the stay even better. I also appreciated the little dirt path leading to Jungle Vibes—it feels like arriving at a small farm, with chickens happily crossing, giving the place extra charm and character. Finally, the value for money is outstanding. This was definitely my favorite accommodation on Koh Phangan, and I’d happily stay again. Highly recommended!
