“Some facilities/services should be reviewed for improved customer experience”
The hotel’s location was very convenient for attending events at the Adelaide Convention Centre. • The housekeeping staff member I interacted with was polite and pleasant. • The iron and ironing board were useful and appreciated during a conference stay. • The television was a good size and worked well. • I particularly enjoyed the heritage character and décor of the hotel. • The courtesy phone call prior to arrival advising that the lifts were out of service was thoughtful and appreciated. • The room was quiet, the bed was comfortable, and the sheets were clean. 1. During check-in, my driver’s licence and bank card were taken out of my sight. As these are important identification and financial documents, I found this uncomfortable. I would have preferred both items to remain visible while being processed. In addition, when the bond pre-authorisation was unsuccessful, I was advised that a charge would instead be made to my card. I felt I needed to intervene and request that no transaction be processed until I had the opportunity to move funds and confirm the arrangement. 2. The bathroom layout was awkward. The shower head directed water outside the shower area, resulting in water collecting on the bathroom floor. The unusual shower door arrangement appeared to be an attempt to manage this issue but was not fully effective. The towel rail placement above the toilet cistern was also impractical. 3. Because of the water on the floor, I needed to use extra towels during my stay. After the first night’s housekeeping service, replacement towels were not provided. This was rectified on the second night. 4. The air-conditioning controls were not intuitive. The room allowed fan speed adjustment only, with no apparent temperature control. I had to contact reception to understand how the system operated. 5. One of the wall power outlets would not accommodate the iron plug. The outlets at the desk worked correctly. 6. The fixed anti-theft coat hangers in the wardrobe were inconvenient and made it difficult to organise clothing normally. Standard removable hangers would provide a more practical guest experience. 7. The wifi landing page seemed to want to collect my information rather than facilitate my internet usage
