Banana Beach Club Unit A2

The unit was very nice, modern, well equipped, and well designed; the kids loved all the activities. There are no restaurants or cafés at the resort, but a shop about 5 minutes away had almost everything, including braai packs. A printed map listing a few nearby restaurants, shops, and interesting sites would be useful. We found a lovely restaurant called Jaxxx about 10 minutes drive away, and the pizzas were amazing! I’ve recommended the resort to family and friends and we’ll definitely be back very soon.

“Under renovation”

Nothing good. It was hard to enter the premises—no one opened the bottom gate (reception), the owner ignored phone calls, and we had to wait 15 minutes before the top gate opened. The security at the top gate was rude and unhelpful. There was no reception area. The cottage was under renovation and should not have been rented out; we had to prove our booking and payment from a printed reservation. Lindy (caretaker) found another cottage for us, but it wasn’t guest‑ready and still had a packet of sardines in the deep freezer from a previous stay, plus three old towels for a six‑sleeper. We had to get three more towels from a staff member walking by. The beach is a 10‑minute walk through a dodgy parking area and a bridge over a railway line. The games room had no place to hire golf sticks and balls for the putt‑putt, and the pool table was small with only one kiddie cue stick. Overall a terrible experience—thank goodness it was only one night. There are far better places to stay in the area.

“Pathetic, disgusted.”

I didn’t like anything because we never reached the place; they ruined my child’s birthday. I’ve been booking with them for ages, but this was the worst service I’ve ever experienced. I was stuck with the kids in the middle of nowhere 😫 I’ll never forget what they did to my family. The manager/owner sent me a WhatsApp message on the way to the accommodation saying the property was under renovations, and another woman named Lindie texted that the place was double‑booked. Imagine we were on our way.
