“Perfect!”
Everything was very clean, the front desk staff was great, and I’ll stay there again.
“Reasonable middle of the road with great staff”
I stayed two nights while my wife visited Marshall Dry Goods in a small Arkansas town, and the building, built in 2005, shows the typical quirks of older structures. The part‑time maintenance guy, a retired HVAC pro nicknamed Energizer Bunny, was friendly and said he could fix everything if given a budget, which it seems they don’t have. The Comfort Suites in Bentonville or Fayetteville feel a bit more polished, but this place is a budget option a few miles off the highway, so price and location both play a role. My room’s bed was fine, though the wall cooling unit was a bit loud—expected at this price point—and it was hot, so the unit ran nonstop. The shower worked and other facilities were fine. The room was clean but had a faint scent of cleaning fumes layered over 21 years of use. Everyone we met was pleasant, helpful, and gave honest restaurant recommendations. I’d stay again if I came back to town, but a full‑scale refurbishment—hot tub, heated pool, roof repairs, gym equipment—would bring this old property to its full potential. The only real drawbacks were the lack of a hot tub, which the listing wrongly claims, and the parking lot’s awkward layout that makes maneuvering tight.
“Did not enjoy it.”
The only thing I liked was how quiet it was. I didn’t like the bathroom: there were items scattered on the walls under the sink and in the tub corner, mold on the wall, and the hot water was weak. I’ll never stay there again. The pool was out of service, and I wasn’t told about that when booking, nor was it mentioned on the website where I booked.
The bed was very comfortable, the A/C worked great, the location was great, the staff was friendly, and the room was clean.
“Meh”
The location was decent, but the staff came across as somewhat rude.
