“Great option to stay in York”
I love this place! It’s very cozy, has everything a tourist needs, and is super close to the city center. The staff is always ready to help, so I highly recommend it.

Set in a historic York building, InTown offers adults‑only rooms with private entrances, carpeted floors, en‑suite bathrooms, tea/coffee makers, hairdryers, electric kettles and flat‑screen TVs. Located a 60‑second walk from York Minster and under 1 km from the railway station, it’s also near the Grand Opera House, Clifford’s Tower and the National Railway Museum.

The location is brilliant, and there were no issues—though there was no staff on hand, it didn’t matter.

The location was fantastic—just a short walk from the minster with plenty of shops and restaurants right on the doorstep. The room was a good size and the bed very comfortable; the décor made it feel very cozy and homey, and we honestly didn’t want to leave. The bells chiming from the minster were audible from the room but quiet enough to be a pleasant reminder of the beautiful city around us. The stairs to the room were fairly narrow, so carrying the suitcase up was rough, but that was unavoidable. My husband didn’t like the shower pressure, though I found it perfectly fine.

Communication was flawless—Jed stayed in touch all the time, sending the wifi password and instructions a day before. We checked in at 2 pm and the key was already waiting. Our room was 3 on the second floor, facing the cheese shop, and it was lovely and clean with tea, coffee, and milk supplied, plus a hairdryer, towels, and a 2‑seater sofa that was a real treat after a long walk. The room felt warm and the bed was comfy. The town sits on a busy road, but we were aware of that beforehand and the noise didn’t bother us; we even left the window open the whole time. Everything we wanted to see was close by: the Minister, Shambles Shops, the exhibition stand for the hop‑on hop‑off bus, and the river cruise. Tesco is a 2‑minute walk, and the train station is a 15‑minute walk. We loved staying here for all the reasons mentioned and have already planned to return. The only downside was the stairs to the rooms, which is expected for a property of this size; I was fine with them, but people with mobility issues might find them a bit challenging.
