I chose this spot for its proximity to the Rail Trail, yet the park feels abandoned and neglected. The website advertised a bar and bistro, but nothing was open, and except for a few possums we were the only visitors.

It was very quiet and peaceful, and because we arrived in the off‑season we were likely the only guests. The room was rustic, comfortable, and the facilities were well maintained. We wished for a bonfire, but since we were alone I’m not sure it was possible, and we didn’t ask.

The beds were amazingly comfortable, but the hot water didn’t work in the en‑suite of glamping tent 2.

A fantastic little gem, beautifully arranged, peaceful, and well equipped; we stayed in the Cattleman’s Hut and it was so cosy and lovely.
