The reception staff were pleasant and the waitress Ivanna was friendly. We stayed two nights but never slept well. 1. The soundproofing was terrible: the entrance door on the lower floor has a huge gap that makes it feel like you’re in a corridor, and even when parents whispered “quiet, people are sleeping,” we could hear everything. 2. Room layout and doors: on the 8th floor there are four rooms on each side of the corridor, and the doors face each other; the bed is right next to the entrance, so you hear each time someone enters or leaves. The door system doesn’t close quietly – they clunk and the locks squeak. Our neighbors were a family with kids who, from 6 to 8 am and 8 to 10 pm, kept opening and closing the doors, so it felt like they were clunking the door right on our heads. The problem isn’t the neighbors but the door design and locking system, a critical flaw for a hotel with this layout. 3. Sewer smell: we couldn’t open the window because a strong sewer odor from the neighboring hotel was constantly coming in, so ventilating the room was impossible. 4. Staff noise: on the last night the staff and visitors sat on the terrace right under our windows and, around 12 am, they spoke loudly and laughed. We complained, and they moved to the parking lot or elsewhere, but the noise was still clearly audible in the room. Overall we were very dissatisfied; the complete lack of sound insulation and structural issues made it impossible to sleep properly, and in two nights we never slept well.
