“Alright for a night or two. Good price, but they'll try to extract more cash every which way.”
I was happy to find the hotel near the airport and that it had a pool; the beds and pillows were comfortable and the price was good compared to other Juba hotels. However, I paid with a mix of Euros and US dollars and the receptionist insisted that €15 was less than $15, which isn’t true, so I overpaid. She claimed the owners wanted more, and after showing her the exchange rate on my phone I didn’t give her extra money, yet she still didn’t return my €5 change even though she promised to bring it to my room later—quite sly, and I didn’t chase it up. They also charged me €15 for a five‑minute taxi ride to the airport, which turned out to be the Chinese owner’s jeep driven by a young African employee who clearly didn’t have a licence and couldn’t reverse the vehicle out of the hotel compound. It took four or five attempts before he finally reversed the jeep into the wall, forcing me to drive it out myself—an absolutely dreadful and dangerous situation. On top of that, the ladder out of the swimming pool was missing rungs, making it hard to climb out, and the tiles around the pool were slippery when wet, so be careful.
“Good stay though all expensive in this city”
The staff were excellent, and there was nothing at all to criticize.
I had to change hotels because the receptionist told me there was no booking under my name and she couldn’t check the booking number in her system.
The service was excellent.
“All good”
The staff were excellent, and there was nothing to complain about.
