Located in downtown Fruita, Balanced Rock Inn offers clean, comfortable rooms with free WiFi and cable TV. The motel is 20 minutes from Grand Junction and near the Colorado National Monument and Western Slope biking trails.

I stayed at a small motel; the room was tiny but well‑equipped and organized. The old air‑conditioning unit was very noisy, and the motel sits across from a railway line where the night trains roar and wake me up. The breakfast was very brief.

The breakfast was okay and the bed was comfortable. However, the bathroom’s exhaust fan didn’t work and the tub drain backed up while I was showering.

The facility itself was great—upgraded, clean, and the grounds were well kept. Breakfast was nice, and the area looked tidy; you could see a lot of thought went into the upgrades. The location and noise were the downside: it’s right beside railroad tracks and four trains passed during the night, blaring their horns. The AC was also extremely loud, and the toilet ran all night. It’s a fine place to stay if you don’t need to sleep.

The continental breakfast is free! The room is so small. The train passed by four times late at night and early in the morning, with the horn blaring. I know this issue isn’t the Inn’s fault, but it’s not what I expected.

The room door locks are digital, and check‑in is contactless—just fill out the form and they activate the door lock promptly at 3 pm. I would have liked to check in early if possible.
