The location, facilities, and activities are fine. This was my second visit to Antigua and my first stay at Cocos, after an excellent experience at their sister property, so my expectations were high but the reality fell short. We waited over an hour for a buggy transfer that then ran out of battery, forcing us to walk to our room. Throughout the stay, food quality was consistently below standard and the resort repeatedly failed to honor dietary restrictions even after we informed them in advance and repeated the request before each meal. The beach bar improved slightly at lunch, but it opened late on several days and often lacked key ingredients, severely limiting the menu. The same issue affected cocktails across the resort. The minibar in our room was never stocked properly, with basic items taking days to arrive—or not arriving at all. Cleanliness was also problematic: the room and outdoor deck were not ready upon arrival, with cigarette butts and other debris visible, and this wasn’t adequately fixed during our stay. While some staff were warm and welcoming, overall service was inconsistent and occasionally unprofessional, with staff frequently using personal devices, playing audio loudly, or appearing disengaged. This detracted from the relaxed, premium atmosphere expected of a resort of this caliber. We raised several concerns with management during our stay, but the response seemed sluggish. Antigua is still a fantastic destination and we plan to return, but we won’t stay at Cocos again based on this experience.
