We arrived very late, around 00:30, after having booked two rooms and being convinced that at that hour there was no chance to get anything to eat. The surprise was huge: we were received extraordinarily well, served an excellent soup, exactly what we needed after the drive, and the house also gave us a very good bottle of wine. As if that wasn’t enough, without us asking or expecting it, we were upgraded from the two booked rooms to two apartments. This kind of hospitality is becoming rarer. It wasn’t just about accommodation, but about caring for people and a real desire to make guests feel good. We were sincerely impressed, and for us the experience at Hanul Razesilor was far beyond expectations. We will definitely return and recommend it without hesitation. Sincerely, nothing. It was one of those rare experiences where we had absolutely nothing to reproach.

“Conditii groaznice”

This was the worst experience I’ve had at any place in Romania: I booked a double‑bed room through a booking site and was given twin beds, then after insisting they moved me to a room with two double beds, yet the “apartment” was just a single room. Both rooms looked like they belonged to the era when Stephen the Great passed through, with filthy toilets and sinks, a wooden toilet lid swollen with grime, a shower curtain that seemed to have been used as a tissue, a bathroom door frame with a hole and mould, repeatedly used and unwashed glasses, a bathroom mat that seemed taken from a restaurant entrance, and the floor dirtied your socks as soon as you entered the hallway. The photos say more. Access to the lodging required going through a restaurant that closes at 22:00, after which you could only exit through a rear courtyard surrounded by 2‑metre‑high walls. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone; better to sleep in your car if you’re just passing through.
