The rooms are spacious. A fly came in a light shade, and using the bath was tough because you have to stand in it to plug in the hose and get water.

The George Inn is a traditional English coaching inn situated on 2 acres of beautiful grounds along the River Wylye in Longbridge Deverill, offering stunning views and free WiFi. This 12-room inn features en suite accommodation with TVs, hairdryers, and tea/coffee making facilities, as well as a traditional oak-beamed bar with real log fires and a fine selection of ales and wines.

The staff were lovely and friendly, the room was large with a very comfortable big bed, the food was good, and the beers were great.

The vibe felt like a country pub; the beds were comfy and the kids loved the bunk beds. However, the muffin the husband had for breakfast was raw in the middle, no staff checked on us at the table or at checkout, and room cleaning could improve—dirty window sills and surfaces in the bedrooms.

The place was solid and comfortable, nothing to complain about.

My son and I stayed for just one night while he was competing in a local mountain biking event. The outside of The George looks a bit dated, but the inside is fantastic. The bar and restaurant are beautiful, warm, and welcoming, with open fires, modern interiors, and a lively, friendly vibe. We requested that our double room be split into two single beds because my son is 14, and Leonie arranged that without hesitation. The room was beautifully decorated, spacious, and had a fridge, coffee and tea facilities, a flat‑screen TV, and very comfortable beds and pillows. The bathroom was equally excellent. I highly recommend staying here and we’ll be back next year.
