At least there was a roof and we could find the place easily. But honestly, where do I begin? When we arrived the host was surprised to see us and didn’t know we were coming, even though we’d booked in advance. We were told there were only three beds, so one of us had to sleep on the floor. The listing promised Wi‑Fi and a shower, but neither was present when we got there, so we couldn’t shower after a long day of traveling. The vibe felt unwelcoming; the woman was okay, but the men in the house were angry and even entered our room. The house didn’t look very clean—when we woke up all four of us had sore throats and stuffy noses, and the rooms smelled odd. All in all, it wasn’t a great experience.

A solid spot for a one‑or‑two‑night stay when you’re in this part of the country; the rooms were clean and comfortable, and the owners were so discreet you barely noticed them. The place sits on the main road and is just 1,5 hours from Manas International Airport. The downside is that the village of Sosnovka is heavily polluted—our evening walk was filled with smog that made breathing difficult, and coal is still burned for heating.

Well positioned right on the road, but unfortunately not marked; if we hadn’t had GPS coordinates we wouldn’t have found it. A friendly welcome and a dinner were provided, and the breakfast was good. The only issue was the lack of a sign on the gate indicating the guesthouse.

This guesthouse was fantastic: quiet, spotless, and cozy. The garden at the back was beautiful and a pleasure to stroll through. The bathroom and room were impeccably clean, the bed extremely comfortable, and breakfast was delicious with plenty of food. The hosts were warm and lovely, a truly amazing family, and they let us park our rental car inside the gates for extra safety. We absolutely loved our stay and would highly recommend it.
