If you’re into basic, no‑frills accommodation and like heading out from the hut, this place will do you right—the stove works like a charm.

The cabin felt stuffy and smelled bad, and it was freezing inside. With four beds and not a single chair, we’d have been walking the hallway just to turn around if the place filled up.

The setting is fantastic—tiny mountains right outside and a friendly owner who gave us the simple chalet life we were after. It did get a bit chilly, but the extra heater managed to warm up the bedroom.

The chalet itself is pleasant, the communal kitchen and large family rooms are nice, but we didn’t get the private bathroom we paid for—it was shared down the hall. The kitchen is also communal and other guests leave their stuff everywhere, making it feel more like staying at someone’s house; there’s food and dishes scattered around, and it’s noisy with kids, so it’s not a romantic getaway—better suited for families.
