We started off with a great breakfast and the hotel was right near everything—shops, etc. But when we got there, the room we had booked before the trip had been swapped without telling us. It could have been a touch cleaner; there was food on one of the chairs, and we could hear people stomping on the floor above us!

The room was spacious with a nice kitchenette, but the front desk experience was the rudest in recent memory. We reached our room only to find it was not the type we booked, and we had to argue with the staff and show her our reservation before she relented and switched us to a room similar to our reservation, all while saying we should be calling to handle this mix‑up. Hah, right. In the new room we noticed the gutter outside the window was hanging down and ready to blow off. My husband went down to alert the front desk, but she just laughed it off, saying, “oh yeah someone is coming in the morning.” Ok, that could kill someone or hit a car parked below. Indeed, in the morning we saw it had fallen into the parking lot. The room was dirtier than I expected (dead ladybugs and other beetles in the carpet, window sill and TV stand), and the bathroom door was like a barn door with an awkwardly large gap between it and the wall that disallowed privacy and let out light, which is annoying when you’re trying to sneak around in the morning and not wake your toddlers. We were underwhelmed by the breakfast compared to other similarly priced hotels. Anyway, we will not be back.

The suites were large and the beds comfortable. Breakfast needs work: the “hot” items were cold biscuits with dry chicken strips and cold rubbery scrambled eggs.
