I stayed for one night, and the room was clean and comfortable; the food was excellent and the staff were very helpful.

The Indian breakfast was good, and even though the boys weren't professional, they managed to serve what we wanted. The room‑service staff could have helped more than the receptionist, providing clear answers and promptly giving us towels and missing items. The boy who assisted with luggage in and out was very helpful and nice—he looked about 14‑16 years old. However, Leela Grande Karnal is not a luxury hotel. We booked two deluxe rooms; one was okay, but the other was far from acceptable. It looked clean at first glance but was actually dirty, with old hair and a chocolate paper behind/under a chair, dust on windows and paintings, and a curtain in the shower that seemed fungus‑laden. The curtains were full of old dirt. When we showered, the water leaked all over the bathroom, making it unusable for a shaving machine or toiletry bag. My wife couldn't flush the toilet; it was so hard that she had to hold it to flush completely. The refrigerator wasn't cold at all, the wallpaper was torn, windows were unwashed, pigeons roamed, and there was a lot of pigeon droppings outside. Cleaned and packed glasses were not clean, showing finger marks and fat. We didn't find any “Do not disturb” sign. I called reception at 07:30 am, was reminded around 08:05 am on the way to breakfast, but nothing appeared. I asked the boys from room service in the corridor; they said they didn't have any, but noted our room numbers and promised not to disturb us—this worked. I made my own sign, which worked. We couldn't use our electric equipment without issues (I use a CPAP for a diagnosed sleep disorder). All the wallpaper switches were loose, so cables just fell out; I had to use a weight to keep them still. The TV couldn't be turned on, the remote didn't work, and we didn't have time to sort it out. There was a cigarette smell when entering the room every night, which improved after an hour or two with the AC.

The room was fine, but the washroom left something to be desired.
