The host couple were wonderful, the place is a short walk from the beach, there are two toilets, and the luxury terrace/apartment 3 is fantastic. I was a bit surprised that you still have to go through a local agency and stop there, but it made sense. They were very sincere – so Shiloturist Baška … in the footsteps of our relative Emil Geistich … the story is worth googling.

Even though Mr Alois doesn’t speak English, we used a mobile translator and it worked well. He also lent us a grill and was incredibly kind. The apartment was clean despite its older furnishings, the view was beautiful, and it’s really close to the sea. We just wish there had been a microwave for reheating food, but that’s a small detail.

Overall okay in the bedrooms – large beds and fairly comfortable. The only real plus is the location – just a 3‑minute walk to the beach. Parking is free, but Wi‑Fi is not. The only issue I have is with the bathrooms. There is no shower, the bathrooms are very modest, and there was no way to get a good shower without getting soaked around the tub. The tub is a joke – on top of it hangs a boiler that takes up a lot of space. For me it even feels like a life‑threat because the electricity touches high humidity.
