The superior ocean‑front king room (623) was the highlight—spacious, comfortable, well‑equipped with storage, a good bathroom and a genuine sea view, and the bed was excellent. Staff throughout were consistently cheerful, friendly and helpful, especially the St Lucian team. The gym was large, well‑equipped and very clean. The coffee shop felt like a proper little snug thanks to the lovely women who worked there. Grounds were beautiful and well kept, with plenty of pools and sunbeds. The Italian restaurant stood out as very good, the young singer at the pool party was decent entertainment, and Denise the yoga teacher was genuinely excellent. Room service was poor: long waits (e.g. ordered 5:15 pm for 6:30 pm delivery), cold chips, a short menu and generally disappointing food. On 17 October a burger and chips left me ill with vomiting, diarrhoea, chills and sweats; symptoms continued overnight and into the next day after we moved hotels. I saw a doctor, provided a stool sample and spent the remaining stay resting. Fire alarms went off six times, including at 3:55 am, with no explanation. Several requested items never arrived (wife’s coffee, glass of wine, towels, toilet roll). Food elsewhere was mostly mediocre once expectations were lowered—meat was a weak point (beef better suited to stew, chicken only as legs/wings), puddings lacked occasion, the tapas pizza looked like supermarket frozen fare, and the French restaurant served rice with beef bourguignon. Protein shakes cost extra despite the all‑inclusive rate and my not drinking alcohol. Check‑in was tedious and check‑out worse, with an incorrect bill that required investigation. Electric carts treated pathways like a race track. The spa was good but extremely expensive (£165 for 50 minutes). Complaints made at reception and via the app received no response. At £507 per night for two in October, the overall value felt poor given the food and service shortfalls.

Room was fantastic, bed was very comfortable. Some staff were very moody and unreliable
