We were pleasantly surprised by the beautiful, spacious, clean room with a view of the Saint Laurent; the location was perfect for whale watching, and the pool was a great spot to relax when we were alone. We could wash our clothes, which was ideal for a road trip, and the front‑desk staff were very friendly and available.

“Alles in allem recht gut.”

We chose Les Escoumins as a stop on our east‑Canada tour because it offered optimal whale‑watching conditions from the coast; most of the time it worked wonderfully, and from our room we could see the St. Lawrence River and often spot a blow‑hole or a dorsal fin. Occasionally the view was blocked by large trucks parked in front of the opposite restaurant. It was a big plus that there was a good washing machine and dryer. The staff helped us with various questions and requests, and we were very satisfied with their friendliness and willingness to assist, even though the communication was a bit choppy. It’s clear that Quebec is largely French‑speaking, and since we are not fluent, it was especially important that we met staff who did their best to communicate and help us. We want to thank them again for everything.

The hotel faces the St. Laurent, is easy to reach, and remains relatively quiet despite the busy road; the room is comfortable. There’s no on‑site breakfast, but the restaurant across the street offers a very generous breakfast. The hotel provides a discount voucher for breakfast.
