“Silenzio e relax”

The spot was spectacular, right in the middle of mountains and woods. For those who need peace and relaxation, it’s a real gem. The room was tidy and the sheets smelled like freshly washed laundry, a rarity! The owner was very kind. The only flaw for Italians is that there is no bidet! Otherwise, the property is highly recommended.

“Noisy neighbors, bad bed, and other reviews were overly generous”

The owners were very clear about what they wouldn’t provide. No kettle, no agreement to boil eggs for me because they didn’t offer breakfast. The price was reasonable for a basic room and bath. There was no fan in the room, though it was 32° at night so I bought one and left it. The mattress was terrible.

“Bagni di Lucca è un bel posto, ma soggiornate altrove.”

The view from the window was the only thing decent. Otherwise nothing. It had no fan (not even an AC), no on‑site breakfast, no kettle for instant coffee, and the drive from the village was at least 10 minutes on a winding road. I’d even add that accessing the property at night is dangerous because the road is narrow and the path is uneven with a nearby ditch. The bathroom had no bidet, which is quite rare in Italy. At least there was a fridge to keep drinks cold. The garden was inaccessible and unkept. If it weren’t for the view, I would have left immediately. It feels like the manager completely ignores guests’ needs.

The house sat amid greenery with an unusually quiet evening, and on Saturday I even saw two foxes dart out of the underbrush; the heat felt almost the same as back home, the owner was friendly and the room suited my needs perfectly, though the bathroom was missing a bidet.
