A La Rencontre Du Soleil - Camping is situated on the edge of Ecrin National Park, within a 1-hour drive from Grenoble and 13 km from l'Alpe d'Huez. This property features mobile homes and wooden cottages with private bathrooms, kitchenettes, and terraces. Accommodations offer mountain views, flat-screen TVs, and covered terraces. Free children's animation, a bar, and restaurant are available during summer, along with free private parking and Wi-Fi access (charge applies).

We’ve stayed here about 7 times in the past 30 years and have always found the site and staff to be excellent.

The chalet was nice, though old and very budget‑style. It had all the basics and was right at the foot of Alpe d’Huez, a great spot! However, it was outdated, the sofa was hardly usable, the beds were mediocre and came with a sort of transparent bedding for protection that didn’t help comfort. You have to clean everything yourself, and if you don’t, you’ll be charged €85.

The campsite’s location and pool were positives. However, due to technical problems the campsite pool was unusable, but a public pool was reachable by a 3‑minute car ride and free for campsite guests. The back of the fridge had a bad smell; after reporting the issue, it was cleaned.

The campsite was quiet and looked tidy. It was a pity the pool wasn’t open; it would have been nice after cycling. We could go to the municipal pool, but it wasn’t next door.

The location is unbeatable, right at the start of the road to Alp d’Huez, and it’s also close to the village of Burg d’Oisans and a supermarket. The beds and pillows in the chalet were extremely uncomfortable, and the hospitality of some staff could be better.
