The staff were friendly and helpful, the rooms were clean and dinner was tasty. However, the off‑site phrase rooms are located away from the main hotel, facing the main footpath to the parks, with the toilet just in front of the rooms. Security relies on guests to lock the main door. Inside the room there are only two chairs and a small table, so you can’t relax comfortably. Noise is easily heard. We had to walk up the hill road to the main desk and then a long corridor to the restaurant for dinner and breakfast. Fortunately it didn’t rain.

Historic, the meals were delicious, the staff were attentive, and it was peaceful.

Everything was good. We didn’t sign up for breakfast. The onsen was especially great and a wonderful break from walking around town. The hotel, however, needs to remove the sign that says pay 100 yen at reception for an extra towel. We didn’t need to do that because fresh towels were left at our door every day, but the sign looks ridiculous for a hotel of this calibre. Please take it down!
