The breakfast was tasty and made to order, and the outdoor seating area was nice, but the building and its furnishings felt dated; although heritage buildings are hard to modernise, the decor could use an upgrade. Our son, staying alone, was given a room far larger than ours, and if we had arrived together we would have swapped rooms.

Everything was fine except the late‑night noise coming from the bar, and the fact that our room sat directly above it.
