The room was a good size, but for a five‑star hotel it was utterly disappointing; the receptionists only speak Chinese, making communication difficult. The breakfast buffet offered only Asian food, the entrance was poorly signposted, and taxis got lost a couple of times.

The front desk staff were patient and very friendly. The hotel also offers a gym, pool and laundry facilities, making it good value for money. Breakfast was plentiful, featuring both Western and Chinese‑style dishes plus a local Laotian noodle specialty.
