Lakeshore Lodge

“Wish I could have met anyone who was working there. The key was taped to the door at the other loca”

I didn’t realize breakfast was included, yet the room was clean with a nice shower; however, the air conditioner worked well until 1 am when the fan started a very loud squealing that woke me.

“Goed en praktisch voor een nacht en om als slaapgelegenheid te gebruiken een aanrader.”

A special quiet spot on the edge of Lake Isabella, the complex consists of single‑floor lodges with parking right in front; it’s outside the usual development but a 5‑minute drive brings you to a lovely Western‑style town in Kernville, and although the surroundings weren’t very pretty, the lake view made up for it.

The spot was fantastic—couldn't imagine a better place. The bed was comfy and the room stayed tidy, but the pillows were rock hard, the sink in the bathroom backed up, and the water pressure was low. The baseboard also needed caulking; the gaps made the room look cheap.

“Could have been better with staff on site & a little cleaning of the outside”

The view of Lake Isabella and the outdoor gathering area were nice, and the room was clean. However, we had to go elsewhere to check in—no staff were present, and an envelope was taped to the door. There was no human interaction, the coffee and tea ran out and weren't refilled, and cobwebs and dirt covered the windows and door. We had to return the key at the other location and felt disappointed, especially for the price we paid.

The location and views were good. The place felt a bit run down and could use renovation; thick dust covered the bathroom fan and there were a few cobwebs around some windows. The kitchen area could use a few more utensils.
