I didn’t like anything; I booked the room the day before, but when I arrived at the front desk they called saying the room was already taken.
“Goede accomodatie, matig personeel en customer service.”
The rooms were nice, large, and clean. The staff were incompetent, and the front desk was empty. They seemed clueless about check‑in/check‑out, and we didn’t receive breakfast unless we asked for it ourselves. We also didn’t get a choice for breakfast, only coffee or tea afterward.
“Disappointing.”
The hotel sits in a pretty good spot, right near a market and close to the main town. Our guide for the loop tour was Kian, who was great and very knowledgeable. The owner got aggressive when we tried to negotiate the price of the loop tour. Our first room was 604, damp and not very clean. After the loop tour we were moved to a different room—probably 403—which was much better and not damp. The hotel was almost empty except for us, so breakfast only had bread, coffee, and eggs; I think more guests would have meant a wider selection.
