“Maravillosa”
The cabins and the peace.
“Beautiful location, limited food options, not suited for vegetarians”
The location is very pretty and peaceful, the accommodation was reasonably clean and comfortable. However, we were very disappointed with the food situation. The accommodation states that they can accommodate vegetarian and gluten-free dietary needs, but they seemed unprepared for vegetarian guests. We had discussed our vegetarian requirements with the staff and were told they could prepare us a salad without meat or fish. When it arrived, however, it contained bacon and was also extremely small, more like a side dish than a proper meal. After we contacted them about the bacon, instead of preparing a new salad, they returned with the same salad with the obvious bacon bits having been simply removed. But we still found pieces of bacon in it, so we could not eat it. We later contacted them to explain the situation and request a refund for the dinner, but received no response and no refund. Given that they advertise being able to accommodate vegetarian guests, this was particularly disappointing
“A lot of potential for this beautiful resort!”
We stopped here between Betanzos and Ordes. The pre‑arrival communication was a bit slow and we were surprised to find the reception closed at 3 PM on a Monday. There was some confusion with our luggage, which was left in another cabin that was locked when we got there; after walking 11 miles we were tired and having to hunt for our bags was not appreciated. The property itself is nice, clean and comfortable. The AC works great and having a kitchen was handy since the restaurant is closed on Mon and Tue. We took a taxi to a nearby market and cooked dinner. The pool bar also served decent burgers and sandwiches until 8 PM. We didn’t like the lack of staff – if you need help there’s nobody to ask. Breakfast was pre‑ordered but very limited and lacked healthy options like protein or fruit. Also, giving only one small coffee pod per person is ridiculous. I suggest making the pool bar available for breakfast when the restaurant is closed.
The view, the hospitality, the apartment. The restaurant was closed in the evening.
“Value for money? A big fat NO”
The cabin itself was nice and spacious, right next to Camino Inglés, but everything else was highly disappointing. Communication was terrible – no one answered my emails, WhatsApp, or messages. When we arrived the restaurant was closed, and we were told there was a cafeteria, which turned out to be a pool bar that served the worst burgers I’ve ever had, and we had to wait an hour for them. Breakfast was delivered in a bag the day before, consisting of stale bread, a dry pre‑made croissant, brik juice, barely any butter, and coffee pods that made the thinnest, weakest coffee imaginable; there was tea but no kettle to brew it. Mosquitoes kept us awake all night, and you could see previous guests’ attempts to kill them on the walls. I thought it would be a cheap stay, but it turned out to be the most expensive place we visited and the worst. This cabin is a Danish masterpiece of “take the money and run.” You expect a luxury night and get ripped off. On top of that, the bedroom door had to be jammed to close, and the fridge was dirty.
