“Really lovely and quirky place to stay. Would recommend.”
A truly lovely yurt full of character in a great location; the only slight drawback was the camping toilet, which I hadn’t realized existed.
“Fabulous Yurt, great location and stunning views!”
I booked a stay at Thistlebank Yurt for a short escape with my dog, and it had everything I needed. The yurt was roomy yet snug, and the outdoor kitchen and shower room were great touches that made the experience very comfortable. Even with another yurt and a B&B close by, the place felt very private and quiet. The sunset over Llangollen was gorgeous, and the spot was perfect – about a 45‑minute walk along the canal to the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct and a similar walk into Llangollen. Besides the canal strolls, I drove a short distance and took in the beautiful routes around Panorama Walk, the hills and mountains nearby, Castell Dinas Brân, and Horseshoe Falls, all right on the doorstep. The nearest pub, the Sun Trevor, is just a 10‑minute walk away; you can cross the road and follow the canal path to dodge the main road, which makes for a nicer walk. It’s a lovely place for a quiet break with stunning views and endless walking routes, and I can’t wait to return.
“Yurt excellent but beware the lane”
The location was good, and the yurt was comfortable with everything covered that was needed. The narrow, steep, pitted lane was only manageable in low gear. I didn’t get any welcome or interaction from the owner in person, which felt odd and a bit rude. I stayed for two days. The shower curtain was too short, so I had to mop the floor with my own towels afterward. There was no free internet, and the main station was unavailable. Some things needed TLC: the umbrella was broken, and the stitching on the settee had ripped.
“Excellent stay”
Everything was lovely; not much else to add.
“Two night yurt stay”
The yurt was lovely and in a great spot, very homely with parking on site. The outdoor seating was comfortable, and the owner kept in touch well. A pub with good food was just a short walk away. The quirky covered outdoor kitchen had a handy fridge and cooking facilities, and an electric blanket kept me warm on cold nights. The place was dog friendly. However, there were no towels provided, and the only toilet was a potable camping one, which felt odd given the proper plumbing in the shower and basin.
