“Ok for a single night”
The hotel sits near a cluster of restaurants and shops, but everything feels pricey. The room looked tired, though the beds were fine. Check‑in was slow; the front desk staff were port‑like and took forever to finish.

The Crane Resort, located on famous Crane Beach in Barbados, offers 5 restaurants, lighted swimming pools, and stunning ocean views. Its 19th-century-style rooms feature vaulted ceilings, 4-poster beds, cable TV, and free Wi-Fi. A shopping complex, gym, and restaurants like L'Azure, Zen, and The Carriage House are on-site. Grantley Adams International Airport is a 15-minute drive away.

I liked the nice sea view, but the floor was dusty when I arrived. The air conditioning in the bedroom made so much noise that I had to shut it off to sleep—totally unacceptable. Checking out took an unnecessary 30 minutes, and the staff in charge wouldn’t let me leave for just a few minutes so I could catch my flight.

I was furious with all the restaurants. The pools were good. The service was awful. We didn't want the air‑conditioner on at night, so we turned it off, which caused condensation on the floor throughout the whole room, leaving it damp. We told the staff about the problem multiple times, and each time they said they'd send a technician. The technician never arrived. The third time we reached out, someone called to tell us we needed the air‑conditioner on to avoid condensation. We said that wasn't a workable solution for us, and again they promised a technician, but none came—surprise. The staff showed no willingness to solve a problem that had been raised several times, and we were dismissed each time we tried. If we had known we had to keep the air‑conditioner running 24/7 to avoid wet floors, we would never have booked the crane. We had just visited another Caribbean island where this wasn't an issue. This is the lowest level of service we've experienced at a hotel, and we won't recommend it.

Finding a room at any time of day is never an issue, and if you know what you're looking for, it's easy. There are plenty of pools to choose from and the nighttime atmosphere is pleasant. Walking to the rooms on the top floor under the midday sun was scorching; it would be nice if they offered a golf cart for guests to use.

We stayed in the three‑bedroom suite with a pool, enjoyed the beach buffet at the Grove, and used the shuttle bus to Carlisle Bay nearby, although we only learned about the shuttle schedule the morning of our arrival. The beach was covered in seaweed, the staff were sometimes unhelpful, and the restaurant menus were limited.
