The staff were incredibly friendly, especially Sagara who was our tour guide and absolutely fantastic! The night tour, which was not in the national park, was great—we saw Schlossberg and some amazing frogs. The trek through Sinharaja Forest turned out to be much longer than we expected, but we loved it because Sagara adored the forest. Right by the property you can also spot Kingfishers and a lot of other birds, plus some monkeys.

They prepared coffee for us on request at 06:00 before the hike, the park entrance was convenient, the surroundings were beautiful and quiet, there was a terrace seat for the room, the staff were friendly, the food was tasty though spicy, and our all‑inclusive price also covered a bird‑watching tour. On the downside, everything feels very old, with neglected corrugated sheets on the roof (maybe asbestos?), towels and linens are dried on site, the photos don’t match reality, we expected a secluded forest location but there are several buildings around now, there’s no fridge in the room, no shampoo or shower gel, no kettle for coffee or tea, the pool loungers are broken, the shower was mouldy, the room is tiny, the parking spot fits one car but is very awkward, it’s extremely noisy with frogs keeping you awake all night.

We booked a 4‑5 hour tour, yet the property demanded an extra $100 for it, even though it was written in our voucher and the owner was unreasonably uncooperative. The pool was unusable, the water was dirty, and the pump didn’t work. The sun loungers were completely broken with rusty protruding nails. Towels were left drying on an asbestos roof. The tap produced brown water and there was no hot water in the shower. The staff were very unfriendly. The location was so remote that you couldn’t go anywhere. The sheets were torn. The rooms were dirty and moldy. The restaurant was also filthy, with menus so dirty you couldn’t touch them.
