“Interessant!”
The hotel sits in a pleasant spot, quiet and a bit out of town, yet the city center is still easy to reach. The first room they offered felt more like a dark warehouse than a comfortable space.

Hotel The Lodge Heverlee, a restored Belgian farmhouse in Leuven, sits 200 m from Arenberg Castle’s gardens. Its spacious rooms feature wooden beams, brick walls, and private baths. Guests dine on regional fare at De Oude Kantien, a fireplace‑lit restaurant, or enjoy drinks at the bar or terrace overlooking the garden. The historic city center is 3.3 km away, with easy train access to Brussels and the airport.

Friendly. When we first checked in, the room was not cleaned and still had the previous guests’ bedding. It was doubtful cleaning would happen on a Saturday night. Later that evening they contacted us, saying we could move to a room in the other building at night, which we did. No financial compensation was offered; we had to email them, and they would arrange something if we came back.

The breakfast was excellent and the staff were friendly.

The location is lovely in a beautiful setting, the room had a charming character, the staff were very friendly, and the breakfast was nicely extensive; the secure bike parking was also highly appreciated. However, the room we stayed in was very noisy – we could hear the neighbors' movements clearly, and the floor creaked a lot. In a double room you should expect at least two chairs and two water bottles instead of just one.

The room was nice and the breakfast was good; nothing to add.
