We had a pleasant stay with a pool overlooking our room, included breakfast, and great value. Peacocks greeted us at dawn, and in the jungle area, insects appeared at night when we sat outside. Dim was a good host and arranged a safari at a reasonable price. We joined the morning safari, which was a great experience. Overall, a good stay.

Breakfast was nice, the setting beautiful, and the host arranged a good safari. The bathroom was outside the room, but that didn’t bother us. We had no towels and only one small sheet for two people.

A great spot in Udawalawe with a peaceful, almost jungle vibe, yet still within walking distance of basic shops and the Elephant Transit Centre. Dim and his wife are charming, generous, and welcoming hosts. Breakfast food is fabulous, and the dinners—small price, genuine Sri Lankan cuisine—are well worth it. Dim organizes excellent safaris, and we enjoyed a wonderful half‑day safari. I highly recommend this place for anyone staying in Udawalawe.

The location is very quiet and peaceful, and we had the first night to ourselves, so it felt like a private pool. The hosts were extremely nice and generous. Just a heads‑up: bring a flashlight if you plan to walk after dark, because it’s over half a kilometre to the main road and the path is a bit rough. It’s not a problem if you’re prepared.
