I enjoyed an excellent one‑night stay; the room, likely 206 on the second floor, was brighter and cleaner than I expected. A neat pamphlet detailing the building’s history was appreciated. The pub downstairs served delicious food, and both restaurant and reception staff were kind and helpful. The location was perfect for train travel, so I definitely recommend it.

The staff were all super friendly and helpful, the place was very quiet so I slept well, and the location suited our needs. I paid extra to upgrade the room, so it wasn’t cheap for a one‑night stay, but the room didn’t reflect that cost; the bedding and duvet weren’t thick enough and kept me cold, and advertised bathrobes and slippers were missing. I prefer constructive criticism rather than fault‑finding.

Very central for our needs, but the decor was a little tired with small patches of peeling wallpaper, even though the room itself was lovely.

The staff were lovely and the surroundings downstairs were nice, but the room was noisy because it sits on the high street. I couldn’t open the secondary glazing to ventilate the room, and the mattress was very lumpy with hard pillows.

There was no parking though a car park was close. It required a parking app which was a bit of a trial after a long journey
