“Cheap spartan digs near downtown.”
Decent sized room with a large bathroom and a very well-stocked kitchen that had stoves, a big refrigerator/freezer, pots and pans, and more. The common areas were comfortable and the overall value was good. However, the shower drain was clogged, causing the first shower to flood the bathroom and part of the apartment. The shower curtain didn’t reach the floor and there was no bathmat. Kitchen towels got dirty and weren’t replaced, and the laundry room machines were mostly filled with sheets that the staff had left there.

“Perfect location for me and really nices rooms and facilities.”
I’ve been to Iceland from Australia four times in the last four years (2023, 2024, 2025, 2026) and each time I ended up in a different place, so this location was new to me again. All of them have been very good and this one was no exception; I was very happy staying here and would absolutely do it again. The location is very convenient, just a short walk from the BSI bus terminal, across the park and almost in sight. That made it easy to reach the bus terminal to get back to the airport and also to catch the bus to the hot springs at Sky Lagoon during my stay. The rooms and facilities were warm, neat, and comfortable, each with two beds. The accommodation is part of or adjacent to university housing. Extra thanks to all the front‑desk staff, who were very helpful, especially when I couldn’t get through to Greenland on any of my phones to discuss the next step of my trip; they made the call for me on one of their phones so I could talk to the people I was planning to visit next (the Inuit Cafe next door to Hotel Nuka where I was staying next). In short, I had a really good stay, very close to everything I wanted to go to in Reykjavik, and I would absolutely recommend it to anyone with similar needs. I have no complaints; the place was perfect for what I needed in Reykjavik and I would definitely hope to stay here again. I would have liked the nearest cinema (Kringlan – Sambíóin Kringlunni) to be a bit closer, but that’s obviously out of their control! (It was also a nice walk but close to 3 km each way.)
