A lively hotel in a convenient spot, everything spotless, stylish, and comfy. The bar hosts an impressive war‑memorial museum assembled by the owner, a veteran who donates the bar’s proceeds to fellow veterans. My room offered an open view of the wharf across the road, where I watched the huge hovercraft glide across the Solent, ferrying passengers between the mainland and the Isle of Wight in under 15 minutes. The stairs were a problem for me because of an injury, but Steve from the bar gladly carried my bag up the flights, and I really appreciated his kindness.

The spot is spot-on, right in the middle of all the action, and the view of the hovercrafts coming and going is amazing.
