“Very cold, followed by very hot from a questionable space heater. Hallways smelled like disinfecant”
The location was convenient and the room was clean, but it dropped to 43 °C at night and the heating didn’t work. Turning the thermostat had no effect, and because no staff were on duty during the off‑season we had to call the off‑hour number. We were told the building’s heat hadn’t been turned on, so we fetched a space heater from the linen area. That woke us to an 80‑degree room in the morning, and the shower water was barely lukewarm. Using space heaters as the sole heat source raises safety and liability concerns, and these issues affected not only our room but also the rooms of two relatives staying there. In Northern Maine you’d expect the building to be heated according to current temperatures, not some arbitrary preset date. If the heat had been on and hot water available, it would have been a lovely stay.
“It was perfect for what we needed but would have preferred a lower level w/ same accommodations.”
The hotel was clean and comfortable, but there was no elevator in the multi‑story building and no staff at the desk during the off‑season, only phone availability.
They stole my credit card information.
“Adequate.”
No one was present at the inn, there was no hot water and no heat, so they refunded us $25. The lack of hot water was the main problem.
“Great skiing, but late season dining options were extremely limited”
The TV had Roku, but the attached restaurant was closed, there was no skiing from the inn, and no restaurants were open in the area.
