The staff were amazing—Jo at the bar and everyone in the restaurant—but when we arrived I expected a welcome drink; instead we were just handed a boarding pass at reception after disembarking.

The resort is wonderful, just a few minutes by boat from Male. The villa is clean and the sea view is stunning, but the excursions might be a bit pricey.

The location is now in the commercial harbour development area; pick a resort further out or on the south side of Male’s main island.
