The room was wonderfully spacious and comfortable, and the pub‑style restaurant was cozy and welcoming—perfect for our walks, clearly tailored for hikers. The staff were helpful and friendly. Everything else was fine, but we noticed the pub had a livelier vibe than the restaurant, and the overall hotel atmosphere was good, though the restaurant’s ambiance could use a bit of improvement.

The breakfast spread was top‑class, offering cereals, yoghurts, fruit, and hot dishes prepared on the spot, served efficiently and with a friendly touch from 07.30 to 09.30. The dinner options were also solid, and I was pleased with every choice, except the fish and chips portion was too large to finish after the smoked mackerel starter.

The décor was lovely, the staff were genuinely friendly and welcoming, and the food and packed lunch offers were good. The beds were comfortable. However, the shower cover was missing its bottom strip and leaked, and the spare lamp was non‑functional—small issues, but noticeable.
