“Une véritable expérience”

Staying at 5 Heeren Museum Residence felt like a true travel experience. It’s not just a hotel, but a place steeped in history, housed in a beautiful manor that doubles as a museum. We especially loved the local breakfast, hearty and varied, which let us taste many Malaysian specialties—a great way to start the day and experience the local culture. The housekeeper was deeply engaged and passionate, taking time to explain each dish, making the stay genuinely unique and enriching. I highly recommend this spot for anyone who wants an authentic cultural experience rather than just a hotel. The only downside was that our room’s window didn’t face the outside, which was a bit disappointing.

Being surrounded by interior design and furniture that look like a museum was amazing—almost better than the nearby museums—but the shower’s hot‑water controls were confusing, so I ended up with a cold shower.

“Excellent !”

The location, richly decorated house, historic character, service, breakfast, and the warm welcome and kindness of the host and staff were all great. The only drawback was that the bed was very comfortable and old‑style, but a bit short for tall people—just a detail.

“Fabulous hotel in a great location.”

The spot is brilliant for the night market, riverside restaurants and bars. The hotel is really eclectic with a limited number of rooms, and the breakfast spread was great. A minor issue: the TV was very low and we could only watch through the bars of the four‑poster bed 😁
