Spotless, with clear communication and instructions on parking and entry. The cold water and refreshment tray in the room were nice extras. Nothing else to mention.

The location was very convenient for our family visit; there were three of us in two rooms. The owner was on the premises and called after we self‑checked in. There were enough kitchen facilities to prepare a continental breakfast, and a nearby pub opened in the morning to serve cooked breakfast if needed. An outdoor patio at the back offered a view over fields—good if you brought your own refreshments and picnicked. The main road past the property was quite busy, close to a motorway junction, so the M1 contributed steady background noise, but its proximity was also a plus for easy access. I’m not a fan of Airbnb‑style self‑check‑in and self‑service, but it’s a personal preference. I felt the pricing was somewhat expensive—more suited to a business traveller with an expense account—and if a Premier Inn had been nearby, that might have suited me better.

This was, quite probably, one of the best overnight stops that my wife and I have ever made. The facilities were outstanding, our bed was very comfortable, parking was easy, a nice bathroom, a kitchenette that was above standard and our host - Hope - was not only delightful but exceptionally efficient and welcoming. Our two Golden Retrievers enjoyed our stay as much as we did - plenty of space, a patio to lie on and a garden to roam. They loved it ! An excellent pub some 200 yards down the road that did excellent food that was the icing on the cake ! We fully intend to stay here on our way back from Northumberland en route for Cornwall and home. It’s extremely difficult to improve on perfection !
