I didn’t enjoy this place at all. I feared being attacked by dogs while the hotel seemed indifferent. Hot water was unreliable and the shower clogged. They had us sleep in a “bunker”. Staff were yawning when you spoke to them.

Parking was a breeze and the staff welcomed me warmly. The lounge, bar, and restaurant were comfortable, and the modern shower and coffee/tea station were well‑equipped. The bed was good, though the room carried a tobacco odor when I entered. The food was tasty but pricey – a £40 sirloin steak felt overcharged.

It was pleasant, but both my friend and I were cold because the rooms had no heating, and there were no heated towel rails.
