The spot, the bathroom, and the size of the accommodation were all good, but the air‑conditioning didn’t work properly and the girl who had shown me how to reach the apartment stopped responding when I reported the issue – a shame.

The stylish, roomy apartment sits right in the heart of Pallanza, next to the wonderful Caffé delle Rosa restaurant; the tasting menu and the sommelier‑paired wines are highly recommended, and mornings can be spent at one of the two nearby cafés for breakfast – Pallanza offers everything a heart could wish for.
