The room was huge and very cheap, especially since breakfast was included; it was well equipped and felt premium. The fact that the room was carved into the rock was spectacular for us. Breakfast was plentiful and the terrace was nice. The street was quiet. I liked that Avanos had more Turkish tourists than strangers, making it feel more authentic than Göreme. However, tiny bits of rock or sand fell from the ceiling, so I had to cover the beds. Our host only spoke Turkish, so communication wasn’t always easy. The hotel is a little far from the center, but that’s what makes it calmer.
