We liked the location and the host’s hospitality, but the furnishings were outdated, the TV was tiny with no channels, the bathroom lacked a proper bidet and was built from drywall with a plastic door that let in noise, the shower was uncomfortable and dimly lit.

The accommodation was great, spotless, and true to its historic, old‑house character as promised in the name; the value for money was excellent.

It’s near the center, in a village, a distinctive mountain house that was convenient for reaching the climbing arena for an event; the price is very fair compared to double the cost of other places, and the lady is kind and welcoming. On a windy night the doors rattled a bit and disturbed my sleep, the bed was a touch hard, and the bathroom could be more comfortable, but for the price it’s fine.

The spot is close to the Via Francigena and very quiet, but the bathroom is old‑fashioned, especially the electrical parts.
